HIDDEN TREASURE

After being off island for 3 weeks I'm back. I was blessed on Saturday with diving with the crew from Dive Experience on a lionfish hunt. Because I had to play hunter sorry no shots from those three amazing dives. The high light was a visit from about an eight foot male daulphin. Did I get photos of this beauty as he cruised only about 3 feet from me? Of course not I'm a smuck and left my camera at home. The next day I did get out and get the pictures below. In a rare day for St. Croix the visability was limited and the light was poor but I still managed to get a few shots I think you"ll like. These were all taken at the pier.

  • Check out the three photos I have of this Spotted Scorpionfish. In the first photo even though the focus is nearly perfect it is almost impossible to see the fish. notice the piece of pink sponge at the left of the photo and use it as a reference as you look at the next two photos.
  • Ok, here is the whole fish start at the top left of the photo. See the tail". Then down the body see the left pectral fin and finally resting on the pink sponge reference point from the first two photos see the head? Dozens of divers can pass by one of these and never see them. When your in the water in St. Croix watch for the ridged pattern formed by that pectral fin I think its the best eye catcher to help you spot this hidden treasures.
